  • 6/14/2012 - Congratulations to Sarah Chapman, our Histology Imaging Program Director, for passing the Histotechnician exam and becoming Certified by the American Society of Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP BOC).  As the oldest and largest certification agency for laboratory professionals, the ASCP BOC is the gold standard for certification of clinical laboratory personnel.  To discuss your histology needs with Sarah, please drop by the Histology lab at 400D Friemann Life Science Center, or contact her at
  • 05/31/2013 - Dr. Matthew Leevy, the Director of the NDIIF - Biological Imaging Research Core, has been selected to become a member of the "2013 Class of Michiana Forty under 40".  On Friday, May 31, 2013, the Young Professionals Network (YPN) South Bend, in partnership with the St. Joseph County Chamber of Commerce, presenting sponsor Gates Automotive Group and supporting sponsors 1st Source Bank and Barnes & Thornbug, will recognize the 2013 Class of Michiana Forty Under 40 at its' annual recognition luncheon.  The Michiana Forty Under 40 Program is a collaborative effort to recognize and honor 40 young professionals under the age of 40 for their contribution and accomplishments in both their workplace and community.  Congratulations to Matt for this community-wide recognition of his achievements and dedication to the research vision of the Notre Dame Community.
  • 6/1/2013Notre Dame-Bruker partnership promotes advancements in imaging.   A recent press release has announced the University of Notre Dame has established a formal partnership with Bruker Corporation, a world leader in scientific instrumentation.  The partnership will develop one of the Midwest's top imaging facilities at Notre Dame.  The arrangement, called Bruker at Notre Dame (BAND), will allow the Notre Dame Integrated Imaging Facility (NDIIF) and Bruker to collaborate on research, training, and new application development.

  • 2/28/2014 - The ND-Electron Microscopy Club has been officially approved for affilitation with Microscopy Society of America by the MSA Council, as one of the local affiliated societies (LAS).

  • 4/16/2015 - Midwest Imaging & Microanalysis Workshop at Notre Dame - May, 19, 2015
  • 4/30/2015 - Bradley D. Smith, Emil T. Hofman Chair of Chemistry and Biochemistry and Director of the Notre Dame Integrated Imaging Facility, was awarded a Internal Grant as part of the Notre Dame Research Internal Grants Program Awards.   The grant was awarded as part of the Equipment and Renewal Restoration Category for the submitted proposal: Upgrade of Three Electron Beam Devices in the Notre Dame Integrated Imaging Facility.
  • Sarah Chapman has been appointed Biological Imaging Assistant Director of the Notre Dame Integrated Imaging Facility.  In addition to her ongoing duties as Histology Program Manager, she will assist Dr. Matthew Leevy in directing technical aspects of the In Vivo Imaging Core.  She will also play a larger role in general management of Biological Imaging within the NDIIF, including publicity, business, and community outreach.  Congratulations to Sarah for her outstanding commitment to Notre Dame and the NDIIF.
